Each one carries with it the possibility of jail time, counseling, and a hefty fine. Anyone who pleas to, or is found guilty of domestic battery, cannot receive court supervision, even if it is a misdemeanor, and it is someone’s first offense. Domestic violence crimes can be either a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the facts and circumstances of a given case.
